Disclaimer & Terms of Use

1. Nature of the Project

coincreek.com is an experimental educational and art project exploring the intersection of cryptographic identity systems, Bitcoin Lightning micropayments, and physical media. The platform is provided as a technology demonstration and learning tool for the nostr protocol and Bitcoin Lightning Network. It is not a financial service, wallet provider, or custodial platform in the traditional sense.

This project is under permanent, active development. Features, APIs, infrastructure, and cryptographic implementations may change, break, or be discontinued at any time without prior notice.

2. Use at Your Own Risk

By accessing or using coincreek.com, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You use this platform entirely at your own risk and on an "as is" / "as available" basis.
  • You are solely responsible for safeguarding any cryptographic keys, seeds, PINs, and wallet credentials generated or accessed through this platform.
  • You understand that private keys generated by this system are pre-generated on a server and should be treated accordingly — they are intended for onboarding and educational purposes, not for long-term storage of significant value.
  • You are responsible for migrating keys and funds to self-custodial solutions if you intend to use them beyond the scope of this project.

3. No Warranty

This platform is provided without any warranty, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, security, or non-infringement. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, data persistence, encryption integrity, or the continued availability of any service or endpoint.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operators of coincreek.com shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from or related to:

  • Loss of cryptographic keys, seeds, or access credentials
  • Loss of funds held in Lightning wallets or on the Bitcoin network
  • Unauthorized access to generated identities or wallets
  • Service interruptions, data loss, or infrastructure changes
  • Bugs, vulnerabilities, or unintended behavior in the software
  • Actions of third-party services (LNbits, nostr relays, Lightning Network nodes)

By using this platform, you expressly waive any and all claims against the project operators, contributors, and affiliates. No legal remedies may be sought in connection with the use of this service.

5. No Financial Advice

Nothing on this platform constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. The platform deals with Bitcoin and Lightning Network technology for educational purposes. You are solely responsible for understanding the legal and tax implications in your jurisdiction. Consult qualified professionals before making any financial decisions.

6. Cryptographic Keys & Custody

Keys generated by coincreek.com are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and PIN-protected. However, they are server-generated, meaning the operator has theoretical access to key material at the moment of generation. Users who require sovereign custody should generate their own keys independently. The claim-and-delete mechanism is provided as a best-effort measure, not a guarantee of data destruction.

7. Third-Party Services

This platform integrates with third-party services including but not limited to LNbits, nostr relays, nostr.build, and the Bitcoin Lightning Network. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the availability, security, privacy practices, or terms of these services. Use of linked services is subject to their own terms and conditions.

8. Cookies & Tracking

coincreek.com does not use cookies or third-party tracking. Session state is managed via JWT tokens stored in the browser. No personal data is collected beyond what is technically necessary for platform operation.

9. Open Source

The source code is publicly available on GitHub. You are encouraged to review, audit, and verify the implementation yourself. Open source availability does not imply fitness for any particular use case.

10. Amendments

This disclaimer may be updated at any time without notice to reflect changes in the project, applicable law, or operational practices. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
